Demanali Privacy Policy

Demanali runs the hotel and rooftop event venue at 275 Grey Street, South Brisbane QLD 4101, Australia, and this page sets out in plain language how we handle the personal information you give us when you book a room, hire the space or simply browse our website, along with the rights you have over that information under Australian privacy law. We keep the wording stripped back on purpose so you can read it in one sitting, and if anything here is unclear you can call us on +61 7 5482 9316 or write to us and a real person will walk you through it.

Who we are

Demanali is a hotel and rooftop event venue at 275 Grey Street, South Brisbane QLD 4101, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

If you have a question about this policy or want to see what we hold about you, email demanali@hotmail.com or write to us at the street address above. We answer privacy requests within 30 days.

What we collect

We only gather what we need to run your booking or event. Depending on how you deal with us, that can include:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and postal address
  • Arrival and departure dates, room type and number of guests
  • Payment details, cardholder name and billing address (card numbers are processed by our payment provider and not stored on our systems)
  • Event details such as guest counts, catering choices and run sheets
  • Correspondence with our front desk or events team
  • Website usage data such as pages viewed and the device you used

How we use it

Your information is used to confirm and manage your booking, take payment, prepare your room or event space, and keep in touch before and during your stay. We also use it to send booking confirmations, arrival instructions and receipts.

With your consent, we may send occasional offers about rooms, packages or event dates. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and opting out doesn't affect your booking. We do not sell personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

We pass on only the details a supplier needs to do their job. That usually means:

  • Our payment processor, to take deposits and settle balances
  • Catering, cleaning and maintenance contractors working at the venue
  • External caterers or AV suppliers you bring in for an event
  • Our email and booking platform providers, who store data on servers in Australia
  • Police, courts or regulators when the law requires it

Some suppliers operate overseas. Where that happens, we require them to handle your data to a standard equivalent to Australian law.

How long we keep it

Booking records are held for seven years to meet tax and accounting obligations. Event files, including run sheets and supplier invoices, are kept for the same period. Marketing contact details stay on file until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them.

Security camera footage from the lobby, lifts and rooftop is kept for 30 days, then overwritten automatically. We keep it longer only if it relates to an incident that is still being investigated.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete it where we have no ongoing legal reason to keep it.

  • Request access by email or in writing to the address above
  • Ask for corrections and we will update our records and notify any supplier we shared the data with
  • Withdraw marketing consent at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting the front desk
  • Complain to us first; if you are not satisfied, you can take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

Questions about this policy?

Send us a note and we will explain how it applies to your booking, or point you to the right regulator if you would rather take it further.
